  1. I always just took the approach that the harder you make it for them to ping you the harder they look. They'll find some bullshit somewhere so be too low with dark tint and let them be on their way.

Bro, was about to post almost the same thing. Mrs had our second (a girl) on the 16th and I'm back to work today. Birth was much easier this time around but had a little difficulty latching. Got her checked for a tongue & lip tie and sure enough she had them, so 3hr round trip to get it lasered and she's chuffing the booby juice now.

My son (4yo) is having a tricky time adjusting, but he's getting there. He had an undiagnosed lip & tongue tie for 11mths, we weren't going through that again.

On top of that we went unconditional on our house sale & house purchase last Wednesday and we settle in a month, so packing is the new family game lol

Yeah that's way too much going on at once! Good luck! My first boy was tongue tied but they got that early and he fed awesome. The new one is all good and he has no feeding dramas thankfully, he was a week before his due date and he's pretty small, went 2.8kgs so a full kilo lighter than his brother. He seems to have night and days mixed up at the moment so he sleeps all day and wants to feed every hour or so at night but we'll get there. I'm usually up at 3:30-4ish anyway so I take him then she he has a big sleep on me from then.

  3. We had our second baby on Monday. Baby boy named Jack, birth was straight forward enough, missus had a couple of complications after but she's on the mend. I'm on two weeks leave, we already have a 3 and a halfish year old boy, he loves the baby luckily, calls it his, but it's already hectic enough how much it has rattled his routine. He's an awesome kid but he's been pushing me this week, today was mental.

Bought a fish finder to chuck on the kayak. Somehow need to find time to fish and ride push bikes while maintaining a marriage, a three year old and a fresh one. Should be fun.

Mangrove jack season his about to fire, is there enough interest here for a fishing thread or will it just be Joey with 1200 bream and me with nothing?

  5. Jesus! Hope you heal up well, that sounds fucking horrible.

I haven't been to boomers yet but a mate goes most weeks and is at me to go. I'm useless at jumping so keen to get there and get some progression in.

First ride on new tyres yesterday (dhf/dhr combo) and it felt like a new bike. My old tyres came on the bike and were sooooo fucked but I didn't really know any difference. Braking performance was the first thing I noticed, then in other bits I was waaaaay inside on stuff because the old tyres would've just washed me wide. Going to take a few rides to get used to but so much better. Bought shit to go tubeless too so I'll do that one weekend.

Missus is on maternity leave now so don't have to be done in time to pick the young bloke up, should average about 60kms a week now.

  6. Pushys and my direct for local stuff. There's bikebug, cyclingdeal and the bicycle store too but pushys is in brissie, can have things next day sometimes.

Biggest one is Wiggle/Chain Reaction Cycles but they're UK so depends what you're after and how patient you are. I got a dropper post from wiggle the other month and only took a week still.

  7. Chop that bloody dork disc off the back Joey. No style points for that. I thought it would be cheap too but even just the consumables from all of our trails being sand/silt adds up, then the shit I break because I'm a retard, then the cool shit you rent, my $500 bike is probably more of a $1200 so far. Good fun though. I average about 40kms a week but that could quickly come down to zero with a baby due in three weeks.

  8. Picked mine up today, got new chain, cassette and BB put on. It used to try eat the derailleur if I tried for the big ring which sucked. Keen to see how much nicer it is to ride.

I'm hoping I can get a Tewantin camping/riding trip in next year. Looks like a cool set of trails.

Found some sketchy abandoned trails in Canberra that really got me keen to get a bike but I know I’d end up breaking bones

Canberra has heaps of trails apparently. Some real nice riding.

Northern NSW has a fair bit of stuff too Joey. Get keen.

  10. Yeah any 29er hardtail will do. Can spend anything from $300 to the new limited run Yeti at a cool 15k for a fucking hardtail. Madness.

There's millions on gumtree, depends what you're after really. You might slowly get keen to do more riding if you get one you enjoy, just all depends on budget. Anything from the bigger brands is usually quality and often hardly used if buying second hand.

  11. Yeah it's crazy. Just ask Joey. I think the most recent photos of it are at the start of this thread. Doesn't cost me anything while it sits around. One day I'll stop being useless. Or make Kyal and Joey knife fight for it.

  12. Good shit! Mine is 10 this year I think. He had cherry eye straight off the bat, day I took the bucket off the other eye did it, then he did a knee when he was three but no dramas since. He's a big retard but I fucking love that dog.
